How far "upwards" do you shave; where do you stop?

waist band :)
To Jockeys, TMI man!!:)
To the question.
I only leg shave to test razor sharpness and when that happens it is a dry shave and I stop at the knee. Unless I run out of leg hair.
I may start using my eyebrows.:hmmm:
I didn't even realize guys did this, unless your a pro swimmer or Bodybuilder.
Hijo!
Now this just doesn't seem natural.
I shave all the way up to the groin area. I also shave my arms, chest, stomach, etc. It does tend to look funny if you have smooth legs that lead up to a hairy chest. Yes it is normal for males to shave their legs. My reasons, it looks clean and my muscles are more defined, especially tanned. I am a cyclist/gym rat so if and when crashes happen on the bike, no hair = easier cleanup of the wound and bandages stick better.
I'm bodybuilder too, I've been laid up with a back injury since March, I never competed in the lower level shows primarily because:
A. Speedo's
B. Shaving Body Hair...
C. I train with Dexter Jackson sometimes, It just seems ridiculous when you see this guy in person......
I think shaving body hair is the biggest mistake a Male can make, because once you start, you always have to do it, otherwise you start to look like Chewbacca. I'm 46. I've been shaving my back now for 12 years. Now, I can't stop. Who ever I'm dating has to do this for me at least every two weeks, Now that's Love...I think to get Electrolysis done would be so costly, I just don't even think about it. I hear to have your back done would cost thousands....
I think what we really want to know is has anyone every used a straight on their wedding tackle and not received any serious or embarrasing injuries?
I did try a little trim with My straight UHUMM!!! down there and no injury. I am still a little passive about doing a normal shave to that area. So for now I will keep the throw away blades for those shaves. One day I am sure I will get it all done with a straight. :chop:
Real men have the bikini area waxed. :rofl2: Kidding aside, I shaved my legs from ankle to knee when I was in my twenties once. I was (and still am) an avid bicyclist and that was the motivation. I found it to be too much of a hassle to maintain. Since then I have had numerous incidences of road rash, deep abrasions and cuts from bicycle wrecks on and off road. My shins are all scarred up. Not being shaved wasn't an issue as the hair gets ripped away with the meat.
As for electrolysis, I have worked with a plastic surgeon on laser tattoo removal and he told me that he doesn't do laser hair removal because it doesn't work. At least not long term. I don't know about the electrolysis.
This is an old wives' tale. There is no evidence (aside from what people 'think' happens) that supports this claim. I am the hairiest dude in the room at all times since about the 8th grade and after shaving my chest all through high school (competitive swimming year-round) everything grew back the same way it had before.
Now that I'm older I shave everything again for the same reasons cessna said -- it looks better. For the single guys, ask 10 (young, 21 to 30 years old) women what they prefer and at least 8 of them will say "no hair".
Of course, I'm not saying doing what a woman prefers is ever a reason to do anything, but if you are trying to "get in good" with one, it certainly helps.

Thanks for the input guys. I just got my bike back, and I'll admit, I was contemplating it. Now that I've given it some thought (and taken a look at myself in a mirror) I seriously doubt I'll be shaving my legs. But hey, you never know; I've done some crazy things in the past...
If you shave your legs, how far down do you go? Would you shave your ankles? Would you shave the tops of your feet? How about the toes? I'm assuming everyone else here has hairy feet and hairy toes.
I'm asking myself why, why did I ever click on this thread?
I'm left feeling confused and slightly uneasy...:(
Fun reading. Anyway, years ago I raced bicycles and did shave. Yes, if you crash you will get road rash somewhere...usually involves days of dealing with a weeping wound. Using any bandage involves taping....pulling off tape....and hair everytime you rebandage. Also easier to clean the wound if hair free.
Fortunately I fell rarely, though fall I did. The more frequently realized benefit of being hairless is that its easier to massage legs with lotions or oils. Lactic acid build-up in muscles is painful. Conventional post-race proticol was to lay on back; feet up on a wall and self massage legs. If lucky...not self administered!
Anyway, I hadnt shaved my legs in years. Until I started SR shaving that is. Now I have small hairless patches where I test my blades during honing. Really an eyesore.
